PGA DAY

PGA Day: A Community United for a Cause

What's it all about:

PGA Day, proudly founded by the PGA of Canada Atlantic, is a special charity event dedicated to raising funds for prostate cancer research and support. After a brief hiatus due to COVID-19, PGA Day returned stronger than ever, uniting golf professionals from courses across the Maritimes for a full day of golfing—all in support of critical health initiatives.

How to Get Involved in PGA Day:

Ready to join the cause? Getting involved in next year’s PGA Day is easy and impactful! If you’re interested, simply reach out to the Marketing, Communications, and Events department head to express your interest.

PGA Professionals can participate in a variety of ways. Here are a few examples:

  • The Classic 100-Hole Pledge: Challenge yourself and raise funds with each hole you play.
  • Designate a Men’s or Women’s Night: Turn a regular evening event into a fundraising opportunity.
  • Play Multiple Rounds Across Courses: Take your game on the road and gather support from different clubs in your area.

We encourage everyone involved to share their PGA Day journey on social media. Don’t forget to tag @PGAofCanadaAtlantic or use #PGADay to spread the word and inspire others.

Donations can be collected through the Canadian Cancer Society platform or via in-person contributions, which will be mailed directly to the CCS.

Participating in PGA Day will earn you 10 points towards the Professional Recognition Program, proudly presented by TaylorMade Golf Canada.

2024 Recap:

This year’s event was a resounding success, raising an impressive $28,609 for prostate cancer charities. Of the funds raised, $10,980 was donated to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, and $17,629 went to the Canadian Cancer Society. The PGA of Canada Atlantic is deeply honored to rally the golfing community for such a meaningful cause, contributing to the ongoing fight against prostate cancer.

But PGA Day didn’t stop there. The event also championed another important cause: the fight against Crohn’s and Colitis. Evan McFarlane, one of our own, was personally affected by the disease and spearheaded a PGA Day event sponsored by Levelwear. His efforts raised over $8,000 to support research and resources for those battling Crohn’s and Colitis.

Moving Forward:

We are thrilled with the incredible impact PGA Day has had this year and are already looking ahead to the future. Each year, we aim to grow this event, expanding its reach and amplifying its impact. Together, we’re making a difference—one swing at a time.

Join us next year as we continue this incredible tradition!
