PLEASE promote this to your juniors and let us know your divisional Junior Club Championship qualifiers. Qualifying is also through any Junior Invitational that you host … also by divisions. Please communicate winners as soon as determined.

Qualifying …

Priority will be given to Juniors who qualify for the event through their respective Junior Championships at their PGA golf club. Please see attached eligibility criteria priorities.

The divisional winners are based on gross score champions.PGA club championship divisional winners for both boys and girls in Junior, Juvenile, Bantam and Pee Wee Divisions.

U19 Boys & Girls:   A player is a junior if they have not reached their nineteenth (19) birthday on or before midnight; August 1, 2024.
U17 Boys & Girls: A player is considered of juvenile age if they have not reached their seventeenth (17) birthday by midnight; August 1, 2024.
U15 Boys & Girls: A player is considered of bantam age if they have not reached their fifteenth birthday (15) by midnight; August 1, 2024.
U13 Boys & Girls: A player is considered of pee wee age if they have not reached their thirteenth birthday (13) by midnight; August 1, 2024.

Please Note:   If you do not specifically crown champions in each of these divisions at your facility, your juniors are still eligible based on age criteria. Simply identify your top player in each of the identified age groups. Your club does not have to have 8 divisional winners to participate … you may have anywhere from 1 – 8 champions.

Entries will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis. It is realized that the timing of your junior club championships will affect the opportunity for your juniors to participate in the Tournament of Champions. You are encouraged to establish dates that will afford your juniors the opportunity to participate.

PLEASE ADVISE THE FOLLOWING...

  • Upon completion of the local Club Junior Championships, the host PGA Professional should immediately provide the names and contact for the winners of the respective divisions at their club to the PGA of Canada Atlantic office. This will provide the best opportunity for your junior champions to gain entry.
  • Please do not indicate to your junior champions that they are guaranteed entry into the Tournament of Champions.
  • Follow up will be made to the winners through the PGA of Canada Atlantic including a ‘letter of congratulations” and an “entry form”. The host PGA professional will be copied on the correspondence.
  • Depending on the availability of openings, additional invitations may be made to the various provincial champions, regional junior invitational champions, etc. Please see attached eligibility criteria priorities. PGA Professionals hosting any of these events are to provide the divisional winners to the PGA of Canada Atlantic office in a timely manner.
  • Entry fee … $85 (including HST) … clubs are encouraged to incorporate support for their champions in the junior programming budget.
  • Practice round play is based on availability for both Sunday, August 25th and Monday, August 26th (after 5 pm) for a fee of $25 including HST. This offer is extended to include the weekend before as well. Players are to indicate that they are participating in the PING PGA Atlantic Junior Tournament of Champions when they book their practice round. This is based on availability as there may be other events at the club.

Please include this in your club’s newsletter or correspondence and specifically communicate this to your junior members and their parents.

As available, please provide overall and divisional winners. As we will be sending personal invitations to the juniors, we will require ALL the following information on each junior,

1. Juniors’ Name

2. Division won

3. Handicap Index

4. Birthdate

5. Junior’s e-mail address

6. Parent(s) name(s)

7. Parent(s) e-mail address(es)
