Our 2026 tournament season kicked off with a bang at the 12th Annual Cobra Puma Spring Pro-Am. A total of 132 players from across the zone came together for one of our most anticipated events of the year. While conditions were far from ideal, with wind, rain, and cool temperatures creating a true links-style experience, the weather did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the players. The challenging conditions only added to the excitement and camaraderie throughout the week.
This event would not be possible without the unwavering support of our outstanding host, Cabot Cape Breton, and our exceptional partner, Cobra Puma Golf. Their dedication, generosity, and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in delivering a truly world-class event. We are deeply grateful for their continued partnership and support.
The festivities began in exciting fashion with the Cobra Putting Challenge, held under the lights on the 18th green at Cabot Links. Amateur players from each team competed in a fun, fast-paced putting contest, each rolling three putts in a lively kickoff to tournament week. The competition ultimately came down to Bruce Cox (Team Jewers) and Jonny Rivas (Team Bishop), who went head-to-head, sinking putt after putt. In the end, Jonny Rivas emerged victorious, earning custom-fitted Cobra putters for his entire team.
ROUND 1
Round 1 teed off at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at the stunning Cabot Cliffs. The tournament featured a 2 Net Best Ball Stableford format, with professionals playing their own ball while also contributing to their team's overall score. A full breakdown of the scores can be found here.
In the team competition, Team Scott (Professional Cody Scott, Dale Nix, Jamie Sweet, and Gary Scott) got off to a strong start. With players posting impressive scores despite the conditions, the team scored 81 Stableford points to take the early lead. Just one point back, a three-way tie for second developed between Team Tremblay (Professional Sébastien Tremblay, Eric Leblanc, Alex Richard, and Mathieu Bourgeois), Team Egan (Professional Alex Egan, Mark Dunbar, Frankie Neves, and Heath Brewer), and Team Romyn (Professional Jarrod Romyn, Matt Ghiz, Corey Romyn, and Jason Malloy).
The professional division proved just as competitive. Jarrod Romyn led the way after Round 1 with 39 Stableford points, while another three-way tie developed behind him between Brett Wilson, Gordie Smith, and Cody Scott.
Adding to the excitement, Cobra Puma hosted daily Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive competitions, providing players with additional chances to win fantastic prizes. Each day's Closest to the Pin winner earned a Cobra Premium Stand Bag, while the Longest Drive champion took home an OPTM Driver.

Following a long day on the course, players gathered for the Kitchen Party hosted at Coore's Lobster Shack. Participants enjoyed a delicious meal, relaxed with drinks, and shared stories from the day in the cozy barn atmosphere. The evening also featured the draw for the Pro-Pro-Pro teams, adding another fun and competitive element to the event.
ROUND 2
Round 2 began with another 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, this time at Cabot Links. While temperatures remained cool, spirits were high as teams headed into the final day of competition.
The team competition certainly did not disappoint. Team Widdifield (Professional Dustin Widdifield, Travis Murphy, Mark Derry, and Jason MacGuire) made an impressive move up the leaderboard, climbing from fifth place after Round 1 into a share of first. Team Scott and Team Tremblay also delivered strong performances once again on the final day, resulting in a thrilling three-way tie for the team championship.
The professional division was equally competitive. Alex Jewers and Steve LeBlanc each posted impressive rounds to finish tied for first for round 2. However, it was Brett Wilson's consistency across both rounds that secured him the overall Professional Championship. Jarrod Romyn finished close behind in second place, while Gordie Smith rounded out the top three.
Rounding out the competition was the Pro-Pro-Pro division. In a closely contested battle, Andrew Noseworthy, Nick Peters, and Cody Scott took home the title. Just one point back were Bradford Curren, Trevor Giggey, and Dustin Widdifield, while Chris Billings, Devin DeBay, and Derek MacKinnon secured third place.
With exciting competition, challenging conditions, and outstanding camaraderie throughout the week, the 12th Annual Cobra Puma Spring Pro-Am once again proved to be a memorable start to the 2026 tournament season.
